We strive for high thresholds of protection specifically to counter environmental and biological threats, mainly smog, allergens, diseases, and radiation. O U R   S T O R Y

Āerde was born out of frustration with the lack of proper protection against Bangkok’s air pollution. Ongoing city construction projects and agricultural burning were partly to blame, but exhaust fumes from heavy, slow-moving traffic topped it all. The average face mask was simply not designed to tolerate under these harsh elements. So instead of looking for alternatives, our team decided to start from scratch.

The process of designing a higher-tier, dependable face mask required relentless, almost compulsive, effort. Improving on air leakage, for example, would involve many (upon many) trials and errors, prototypes after prototypes. Whether that meant making adjustments to the elasticity (of the strap), the filtration, or the ergonomic design itself, we took comfort in knowing its potential capabilities. A vital acquisition was the top-of-the-line nanotechnology made by Respilon® (Czech Republic), which cemented our reputation. Sooner or later, it wasn’t so much about incorporating but rather discarding anything which didn’t add value to the design.

The experimentation *prolonged over a year before reaching its finality. Nonetheless, Āerde’s mask product line is truly a testament to how innovation requires patience. As we continue to grow and improve as a responsible team, future designs are expected to be carried out with the same methodology, no matter how long it takes. We look forward to sharing our step-by-step process in the making of each product so that customers can also take comfort in its protection.

At Āerde, we maintain a high standard of in house responsibility when developing our products. Although proper sourcing is merely standard procedure, this is not always the case in today’s hyper-consumerist market. In full, our products undergo a three-fold process:

(1) meticulous research and selection of materials
(2) simulation of real-life applications
(3) get lab-tested and certified
